We tie a steel rebar cage, pneumatically place the shell, and then let it cure properly, because a shell that cures correctly is a shell that does not spider-crack the first time the ground freezes and heaves at 4,500 feet.

We pull the City of Reno, Sparks, or Washoe County permits and handle the engineering. Then we dig — and we price the dig honestly, because decomposed granite and caliche are common here and nobody enjoys a surprise change order on day three.

How much does a new pool cost in Reno?
Most inground gunite pools in the Reno and Sparks area land between the mid-$50,000s and the high $80,000s once you include decking, and a build with a raised spa, a tanning ledge, automation, and a heater will run higher. Fiberglass shells usually come in lower. We give you a firm, itemized quote after the free in-home 3D design rather than a per-square-foot guess over the phone.
How long does a pool build take in Northern Nevada?
From excavation to fill, a typical Reno build runs 8 to 12 weeks. The bigger variable here is the calendar: we schedule gunite and plaster around freezing weather, so a project that starts in April swims in June, while a project that starts in October usually finishes structurally and then waits for spring to plaster. Remodels and resurfacing take 1 to 3 weeks.
Do I really need to winterize a pool in Reno?
Yes. Reno averages well over a hundred nights below freezing a year, and a cracked pump housing or a split return line is a far more expensive lesson than a winterization visit. We blow out the lines, plug the returns, drop the water below the tile, add freeze plugs to the skimmers, and either set the equipment for freeze protection or shut it down and cover the pool.
Can you build a pool at Lake Tahoe or in Incline Village?
We do, and it is a different job from a Reno build. Lakeside and Incline Village projects mean tighter grading, TRPA land-coverage rules, shorter build windows, and equipment that has to survive real snow load. We plan those projects around the season instead of pretending the season does not exist.
Do you service pools you did not build?
Constantly. We take over weekly service, repairs, leak detection, resurfacing, and full remodels on any pool in the Truckee Meadows regardless of who poured the shell. A lot of our service customers came to us after their previous company stopped answering the phone in August.
Is a saltwater pool a good idea in the high desert?
For most Reno homeowners, yes. Salt chlorine generators produce chlorine on site, so the water feels softer and you stop hauling jugs. The caveat is that our water already carries calcium, and salt cells scale faster in hard water, so a salt pool here needs the cell inspected and acid-cleaned once or twice a season. We tell people that up front instead of after the sale.
